Plans and billing
What the Essentials and Pro plans include, how usage is counted, and how to change or cancel.
Updated 7 October 2026
Manage your subscription under Billing & Subscriptions in the account menu.
Plans
There are two plans, each in sizes based on how many invoices you issue a month.
- Essentials: reminders, late fees, discounts, statements and SMS.
- Pro: everything in Essentials plus custom sending domains, payment plans, webhooks, user permissions and reporting across several organisations. Better value at higher volumes.
Each size comes with a monthly allowance of invoices, emails and actions, and a user limit. Pending invites count towards the user limit as well as accepted users. See Users and access. Annual pricing is available on some sizes.
How usage is counted
- An invoice is one your accounting system issues in the month.
- An email is any email Paidnice sends: reminders, statements, late fee and discount notices.
- An action is a late fee issued, a discount removed, or an SMS sent.
SMS is billed per message on top of the plan. Set a monthly SMS limit on the Billing page to cap it.
Trial
New organisations get a small number of free actions to try things out. Once they are used, scheduled actions wait until a plan is chosen.
More than one organisation
Extra organisations can be added to a Pro plan for a monthly fee each and share its allowance. Contact support to remove an add on.
Changing or cancelling
Upgrade, downgrade or cancel from the Billing page. Only the person shown under Billing Managed By in Settings, General can do this. Another connected user can take billing over from the Billing page, which creates a new subscription for them to put a card on. Cancelling stops automatic actions at the end of the billing period. It does not disconnect your accounting system. Do that from Settings if you also want to remove access. See How to connect Xero or QuickBooks.
Applicable taxes are added to the subscription price. Customers with a New Zealand billing address are charged GST.
