Why did Paidnice not send a reminder or charge a fee?

A short checklist for when a policy you expected to run did not.

Updated 7 October 2026

Open the invoice. The Applicable Policy results table lists every policy with a tick or a cross and the reason. If that does not answer it, check these in order.

  1. Safe mode is on, the organisation is disconnected, or the trial’s free actions are used up. Nothing runs automatically in any of those cases.
  2. The policy is Inactive, in Draft (the action is waiting for approval on the Actions page), or incomplete (red warning on the policy page).
  3. The customer is in a different group from the one the policy is attached to, or is archived.
  4. The invoice or contact is frozen, the invoice has a future expected payment date with freezing turned on, it has an open query or payment promise, or it is on a payment plan.
  5. The invoice is not unpaid and approved, or it is a Paidnice fee invoice.
  6. A filter excludes it: amount due, due date range, reference, contact tag, or similar.
  7. Timing: the grace period has not passed, the send date already passed before the invoice arrived (emails and SMS are not sent late unless the policy says “or later”), or the scheduled hour has not come yet.
  8. Nobody to send to: no email or mobile on the primary contact, or the customer opted out of SMS.
  9. It already happened: the fee was charged by another policy, the person already got this reminder, or the action was skipped or reverted.
  10. It failed. Look at the Failed tab on the Actions page. The notes on the action say why.

If an action is sitting in Scheduled and you want it now, click Run now on it.
